Is P-EBT a one time thing?
P-EBT is a federal program that provides one-time food benefits to children who are eligible for free or reduced-price school meals through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) but whose schools are closed due to the pandemic.

How often will P-EBT be available?
The P-EBT benefits will be available for 12 months. If after 12 months the P-EBT benefits have not been spent, they will be removed (expunged) from the account.
What can you buy with EBT at Walmart?

Can you buy soda with EBT?
“Junk Food” & Luxury Items Nonfood items such as pet foods, soaps, paper products, medicines and vitamins, household supplies, grooming items, and cosmetics, also are ineligible for purchase with SNAP benefits. Soft drinks, candy, cookies, snack crackers, and ice cream are food items and are therefore eligible items.

If the benefit is going to a single individual, note the maximum is $735 per month. Couples can receive $1103 per month, and there are also values for eligible individuals that will generally be a few hundred dollars.

There are a handful of expenses that can count as food stamps deductions. Housing Costs

- Gas bill if you use gas to cook or heat your home.

- Phone line (one basic phone line per residence)

Can I get food stamps during the pandemic?
The American Rescue Plan Act allows states to provide P-EBT benefits during the summer of 2021 and throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. All states to date that have been approved for summer P-EBT have been approved to provide benefits both to children in school and to certain children under age 6 receiving SNAP benefits.
